Dear Draft Animal Enthusiasts,

We have come a long way in 3 months! The Draft Animal-Power Network is taking shape thanks to the efforts of some very committed members.  Recent accomplishments include:

• We are now working as a 501(c) 3 non-profit under the umbrella of Rural Vermont; 
• A Board of Directors has been formed, which will ultimately replace the Transition Team
• Several working committees have been formed to make sure DAPNet continues to grow and develop.
• Our first quarterly newsletter will be printed by the end of this month (February 2011)
• DAPNet has already started to schedule educational events for the 2011 year.

Meet our recently elected Draft Animal-Power Network Board of Directors: 

Carl Russell, Lisa McCrory, Mark Cowdrey, Jennifer Judkins, Geoff Pritchard, Erika Marczak, Brad Johnson, Jean Cross, and Pat Palmer.

Along with a Board of Directors, we have created some committees that will be involved in making our organization run smoothly:

Draft Animal-Power Network Quarterly Newsletter

The first edition of our quarterly newsletter will be coming out this month! The newsletter will be sent out to all Draft Animal-Power Network members, PLUS our mailing list of sponsors, advertisers, teamsters, and attendees from past Northeast Animal-Power Field Days. We will also make sure to post the Newsletter on our website.

The first issue of the newsletter is free to all; if you enjoy it and would like to receive it on a regular basis, please join the Draft Animal Power Network by paying a modest membership fee to support our efforts. Click here to learn more about Membership Options.

Advertisers Welcome! If you would like to advertise or have an article, letter to the Editor, a Commentary piece for us to consider, please send them to Lisa McCrory at lmccrory@hughes.net.  If you would like to submit a calender event or classified ad, please send your information to Erika Marczak at marczake@hotmail.com.  Remember, members can submit their first classified ad for free!  Click here to learn more about advertising with us.

Advertising Rates:
$90 - Half page (1/2) ad - dimensions = 4.5" high x 7.5" wide
$50 - Quarter (1/4) page ad -dimensions = 4.75" high x 3.5" wide
$30 - Eighth (1/8) page ad - dimensions = 2.25" high x 3.5" wide

Classifieds are $10 per ad (up to 30 words), and $.20 for each additional word.

   * Members get their first classified ad free in each issue

Educational Events for 2011

The Draft Animal-Power Network is currently involved in the organization of two events this year (so far!)  One will be in conjunction with a larger educational event in mid August, the other will have a homey social feel on a member’s private farm in September. More details will be shared in the upcoming newsletter!
